Coprinus leucostictus Rediscovered after a Century, Epitypified, and Its Generic Position in Hausknechtia Resolved by Multigene Phylogenetic Analysis of Psathyrellaceae

About a century after the first finding in northern Vietnam (1908), Coprinus leucostictus is rediscovered on 12 localities southern India and to southeastern China, growing evergreen subtropical or tropical forests. It morphologically rather unique species with coprinoid basidiomata, strongly branched diverticulate veil hyphae, hymeniderm pileipellis. The BLAST search of ITS tef-1α sequences showed its close relationship Hausknechtia floriformis, which not clear based morphological characters. Multigene phylogenetic analysis concatenated dataset ITS, LSU, tef-1α, β-tubulin sequences, revealed C. H. floriformis as separate, but sister species. Molecular relationships within family Psathyrellaceae (including 17 genera) are presented phylogram. genera Candolleomyces formed two well-supported lineages were recovered monophyletic group. A total 27 from genus newly generated this study. combined leucosticta, epitype designated, hitherto monotypic emended. detailed description leucosticta supplemented colour photographs line drawings provided.
